There's just about enough time to squeeze in a last diary entry for January. We've rarely had more than one crested tit in the garden at one time, but we've had a pair visiting regularly for the last week. They don't usually stick around for long, but this week they are staying for a lot longer and eating lots of peanuts.

Here's a photo of another regular - a marsh tit.

We've had a lot of snow over the past few days and some really cold temperatures. A proper winter!

The snow was particularly sticky and has settled on all the trees. Quite a few branches have come down in our garden and there are some really unhappy looking trees.

I'm pleased with my cleared paths though. It's quite satisfying having a neat cut through the snow down our driveway.
