General Information

The round pure-white mark on the forewing of this species is diagnostic.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 14-17mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Couch (Elytrigia repens), Cock's-foot (Dactylis glomerata), grasses
Flying: One generation, May-November (mostly July-September)
UK Presence: Immigrant, Possible Resident

Habitat

Coastal habitats, heathland, fens, woodland, scrub and gardens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 1 (0.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Baden-Württemberg.
